Ben Johnson was holder of impressive state and district scholastic records. He held district 100 yard records in 1931-32-33 and State PIAA Champion in 1932.

Held both state and district records in 220 yards. Held broad (long) jump district and state records. Sent to Olympic trials. Best times: 100 yards – 9.8 seconds, 220 yards – 21.4 seconds, 60 yards – 6.2 seconds, Long Jump -22′ 111/2. Participated Columbia University, ICAA, NCAA.
